With more than 15 years of experience in the legal industry, Lucy Pertili started as a legal assistant at Bergel and Edson, where Barry Edson was managing partner. With Edson Legal since its founding, in 2008, she is the firm’s senior paralegal.
Among her many duties, Lucy assists in developing complex major damages claims, prepares claims for trial and arbitration, interviews clients and witnesses, advocates on behalf of clients with insurers, and coordinates rehabilitation and medical treatment. She also regularly represents clients at mediations and prehearing conferences before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario.
Known for her thoroughness and compassion, Lucy is active in environmental and human rights issues, and is a member of the David Suzuki Foundation and Greenpeace International. Her other interests include painting, archaeology, music and cooking.
Lucy is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada and the Paralegal section of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association. She is fluent in Italian.
