Ayla Kim holds a BA in Criminology and Psychology from the University of Toronto and a Juris Doctor degree from the Faculty of Law at Queen’s University. Among her many academic scholarships and awards, she made the Dean’s List at the U of T. Ayla graduated from law school in 2011, was called to Bar of Ontario in 2012 and joined Edson Legal as an associate immediately after.
Ayla assists Barry Edson in developing serious personal injury claims. She regularly conducts examinations for discovery, drafts pleadings and other important legal documents, carries out legal research, attends pretrial court motions, conducts examinations for discovery and represents clients at mediations and prehearing conferences at the Financial Services Commission of Ontario. She also helps Barry to prepare cases for trial and arbitration hearings.
Fluent in Korean, Ayla is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Bar Association, Advocates Society, Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the Korean Canadian Lawyers Association.
